Brazilian Society of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation

In 1954 Physiatry was recognized as a medical speciality, with the foundation of the Brazilian Society of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (Sociedade Brasileira de Medicina Física e Reabilitação - SBMFR), that is affiliated to the Brazilian Medical Association. (Associação Médica Brasileira - AMB ). Our present president is Dr. Claudia Fonseca Pereira.
