National Societies

  • Active Membership National Societies

    Open to established national societies of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, recognized as such in their own country and whose membership is primarily composed of qualified physicians dedicated to the care of people with impairments and disabilities and the practice of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine.

    In most instances there will be one society representing each country, however the Board of Governors, following the advice of the Executive Committee, has the power, in special circumstances, of granting active membership to more than one national society from any country.

    Application to become an active member must include a copy of the by-laws of the national society and membership list. The application will be presented for action to the Board of Governors with the recommendation of the Executive Committee.

    Each active member national society is entitled to nominate one representative to the Board of Governors with the right to vote and to hold office.

    Membership fee is 3.00 Euros per Society member up to a maximum of 2500 Euros a year.
    Membership fee for Developing countries (by WHO criteria) is 2 Euros per Society member up to a maximum of 2000 Euros a year.

  • Associate Membership National Societies

    is open to any National Society of health professionals related to the fields of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine.

    Application to become an associate member must include a copy of the by-laws and a membership list. The application will be presented for action to the Board of Governors with the recommendation of the Executive Committee.

    Associate Member National Societies are entitled to attend all meetings and other activities of the ISPRM, but do not have the right to have representatives on the Board of Governors or hold office.

    Membership fee is 1.00 Euro per Society member up to a maximum of 1000 Euros a year.
