Elections – Call for Nominations 2018-2020

During the Assembly of Delegates, to take place on 11 July 2018 during the ISPRM 2018 World Congress in Paris, elections will be held for the following positions in the ISPRM President’s Cabinet 2018-2020:

  • Vice PresidentCandidates from the Europe, Eastern Mediterranean, Africa region are preferred
  • Treasurer
  • Secretary

At the same time, elections will also take place for Representatives of National Societies to the Executive Committee – Each representative will be elected from one of the 9 ISPRM sub-areas.

We are now inviting candidates to submit their nominations before SUNDAY 1 MARCH 2018!

The nominations and election process will be held according to the Statutes and Policies & Procedures of ISPRM.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Find out more on the duties & responsibilities as a member of the ISPRM President’s Cabinet:

Vice President

The Vice President will be a member of the President’s Cabinet and Executive Committee and will actively participate in any activities. The Vice President will automatically success into President-Elect and then President and Past-President of ISPRM.

Secretary

The Secretary will be a member of the President’s Cabinet and Executive Committee and will actively participate in any activities. With the help and assistance of the Executive Director the Secretary will be responsible for:

  1. keeping up to date the book of minutes of the Board of the Directors, Executive Committee and President’s Cabinet
  2. ensuring that annual membership fees, correspondence and general communications with all members are maintained regularly and periodically as established by the Statutes
  3. screening membership applications prior to presentation to the President’s Cabinet, Executive Committee for approval
  4. screening grant applications to the International Educational and Development Fund
  5. act as a reference person for all committee related projects; ensures communication between committees and the President’s Cabinet
  6. act as point of contact between the Central Office and the President’s Cabinet
  7. screening applications to hold a World Congress
  8. actively assisting an incoming Secretary in a smooth transition of the secretarial duties
  9. any other administrative activity in the routine operation of the Society including the preparation of the agendas for the President’s Cabinet, Executive Committee and AOD Meetings and reviewing their minutes.

Treasurer

The Treasurer will be a member of the President’s Cabinet and Executive Committee and will actively participate in any activities. With the help and assistance of the Executive Director the Treasurer will be responsible for:

  1. the preparation of yearly budget estimates
  2. reporting the annual Account Balance of the assets and funds of the Society with clear indication of income and expenses as compared to the budget
  3. approval of expenses according to annual budget approved by the Assembly of Delegates
  4. co-validation in online banking system with another(other) member(s) of the President’s Cabinet
  5. approval of out of pocket expenses in conjunction with another(other) member(s) of the President’s Cabinet
  6. making recommendations regarding any other financially related issues
  7. actively assist an incoming Treasurer in a smooth transition of the Treasurer’s duties.

ELIGIBILITY

To be eligible for election, you should fulfill the following criteria:

  • to have a Medical Doctor degree with a PM&R specialist title or equivalent
  • to have at least 10 years of PM&R practice or national equivalent
  • to be an active and participating member in national and international PM&R or related organizations
  • to be actively practicing and/or participating in organizational activities in his/her own country
  • to be an Active Member of the ISPRM (individually or through an Active National Society).

HOW TO APPLY

For the President’s Cabinet positions: To submit your nomination, please submit the following documents before the Sunday 1 March 2018 deadline to the ISPRM Central Office: Cover letter, CV, picture, publication list & if possible a support letter from your National Society.

For the Representatives of National Societies to the Executive Committee positions: National Societies applying to have one of their members as Representative to the Executive Committee must be in good standing.

The National Society is to submit the following documents before the Sunday 1 March 2018 deadline to the ISPRM Central OfficeCV of the candidate, a brief individual vision as to what the candidate will be contributing to ISPRM & a formal declaration of fulfilling the requirements.

All nominations will be reviewed by the Awards & Nominating Committee following the deadline.
