NEWS FROM AMLAR (LATIN AMERICAN MEDICAL OF REHABIILITATION ASSOCIATION
May 2008, during the II Bolivarian Congress in Peru, AMLAR Organized the First Latin-American Presidents Meeting, with the participation of the presidents of the Nationals Societies of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. The main conclusions were:
- To develop an Information System for the Rehabilitation Hospitals and Services.
- To standardize the rehabilitation approach for people with disability with guidelines (Evidence Based Medicine ).
- To design the profile of the Physiatrist, according our current needs.
- To integrate the mailing list by Country.
- To develop the Board Certification System in every country.
- Update the AMLAR By-Law
- To include subjects such as Disability and Rehabilitation in the curriculum of the Lawyers, Architects, physicians, etc.
- To design the kind of model we want to have for the future.
The Board of AMLAR Directors was elected in the General Assembly. The current Directory is:
